What You’ll Learn
- How to think about and define your personal brand
- How to define what you want to be known for
- How to align your online presence with your real value
- How to position yourself around the problems you solve (not just your job history)
- How to build credibility and recognition without posting constantly
- How to use your personal brand while networking in person and build genuine connections
Why This Matters
You already have a personal brand. Most people just aren’t intentional about it. It shows up in how you present yourself, how you communicate, and how others experience you online and in person. And it directly impacts trust, credibility, and opportunity.
When your brand is clear and consistent:
- People understand you faster
- They trust you sooner
- More opportunities come your way
Your reputation is already being built whether you’re shaping it or not. This is your opportunity to take control of it.
Jay
If you ask Jay about his work style, he’d say he is laser-focused on detail and values communication above all else for an efficient work-flow. As creative director, Jay enjoys being able to get his hands into all aspects of the creative department, utilizing his experience collaborating on teams large and small, building brands in industries ranging from Destination Marketing to Automotive to Hospitality and many more.
Jay loves living around the water and enjoys paddle boarding, especially in the winter (Brrrr!). He prefers sunset over sunrise, as the former is far less frowned upon to enjoy with a cocktail in hand.
Miscellaneous Fact: He also owns a women’s clothing store with his wife.
Lori
With over two decades of marketing experience, Lori has served as a fractional CMO to more than 30 law firms and led digital strategy for companies ranging from startups to national brands—including Registrar Corp, Cox Communications, STIHL, and Currituck County, North Carolina.
As Director of Digital and Social Media at Qantm Creative, Lori leads data-driven campaigns for a wide range of clients such as The Breeden Company, Sundial Resort & Spa, Sail250, Virginia Health Services, and the Virginia Beach Department of Economic Development. She has also worked with regional powerhouses including Hampton Roads Workforce Council, City of Norfolk, and Manassas Economic Development. Known for her strategic thinking and obsession with measurable results, Lori thrives in the fast-moving, high-impact world of digital marketing.
Outside of work, Lori can often be found at the beach with her dog Luna—her loyal sidekick and frequent office visitor. Fun fact: Lori still has two baby teeth.
Abby
Abby works with clients across diverse sectors, including the maritime industry, nonprofits, personal injury law, home services, automotive and transportation. Known for her comprehensive note-taking and thorough follow-up questions, she also prioritizes building empathetic relationships with both current and potential clients.
In her burgeoning career and community involvement, Abby has already earned recognition as a 2023 COVABiz NextGen honoree and the 2023 Junior League of Norfolk-Virginia Beach New Member of the Year.
