The Challenge

Why should traveling families stay in a city halfway between two popular destinations?

There’s a lot more to do in the City of Hampton than most people know—beautiful beaches, Virginia Air & Space Center and 400+ years of rich history. When the Hampton Convention and Visitors Bureau came to us, we didn’t completely change their logo, but we did make a minor modification that has made a big impact. We added “This Is” to the Hampton CVB logo and then photographed over 20 authentic characters to represent the city—from pirates to civil war soldiers to Olympic gold medalists. We then created an integrated advertising campaign combining both traditional and digital channels to get the word out. Guess what? A lot more people are hanging out in Hampton these days.
